Accessibility Statement

Our commitment

Accessibility
at Kindred Wooden.

This shop is small — one pair of hands, one pair of eyes. We care about every customer being able to find, choose, and order a piece regardless of ability.

What we're doing

Kindred Wooden aims to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA guidelines. Ongoing efforts include:

  • Semantic HTML structure with proper headings on every page
  • Alt text on every product image, describing what's shown and the personalization visible
  • Keyboard navigation across the site — you can browse, filter, favorite, and check out without a mouse
  • Sufficient color contrast between text and background (verified against WCAG AA)
  • ARIA labels on all interactive elements (cart, favorites, personalization inputs)
  • prefers-reduced-motion respected — animations are disabled for users who opt out
  • Form fields with visible labels and clear error messaging

Known limitations

A few things we're actively working on:

  • The personalization live preview relies on canvas-rendered text — we're building a text alternative for screen reader users
  • Some product 360° views do not yet have full audio descriptions
  • Third-party embeds (payment iframes, chat) inherit their own accessibility level, which we don't fully control

Report an accessibility issue

If any part of the site is preventing you from ordering or finding what you need, email us directly at hello@kindredwooden.com. We treat accessibility bugs the same as broken checkout bugs — same-day response, prioritized fix. If you'd rather order by email, we're happy to help you complete a personalized order manually.

Formal complaint

If you'd like to submit a formal complaint or feedback under the ADA (US), the Equality Act 2010 (UK), or your local equivalent, please email us with subject line "Accessibility complaint" — we log these separately and respond in writing within 5 business days.
